SGRM – International Insurance Brokers is a dedicated and ethical group of dynamic and intelligent professionals, well qualified in both risk management and business.

We are generally concerned with large group health insurance mainly for the maritime industries, however we do also insure large group health in other sectors like airline industry, manufacturing, banking, etc

We pride ourselves in changing our industry for the better of our clients, by bucking trends and refusing to stand still like most other insurance firms. We work with carriers and insurance companies all over the world to constantly upgrade and develop new products for the future, with better benefits and lower costs for out clients.

Nigel P. Beatty

President / Co-Founder

Nigel is also senior executive director of the multi-national investment & management company The Someya Group Limited, where he oversees maritime & luxury acquisition & investments, as well as private equity for large investment real estate projects in Asia.

Previously serving in the Royal Navy and then a successful Captain of large private & charter yachts; Nigel came ashore in 2005 and started various businesses in the USA, Europe and Asia.

With offices in Hong Kong, Japan, UK and USA, Nigel divides his time between his main home bases of Tokyo, London and Miami.

Christopher M. Abba

COO / Co-Founder / CRMO

Before moving into insurance, Christopher spent over twenty years in corporate management for cruise & hospitality industry

Notably he worked in casinos worldwide which has provided an excellent background for the transition into risk management and insurance.

Project & Risk Management are Christopher’s expertise, and prior to joining SGRM, he created and headed up the Life and Health division for a major brokerage.

Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Christopher licensed in 48 of 50  States of America.

Claire Murray French

CEO

Claire  is also President for Business Development of partner company The Someya Group Limited.

After graduating University from Oxford, UK, with a BSC Honors Degree in Hotel, Hospitality & Catering Management, she’s worked in various hospitality managerial positions worldwide, as well as taking lead and purser positions on board some of the world’s most prestigious Commercial vessels and megayachts.

Having sailed the world and with her organizational expertise & qualifications in law, accountancy & management, Claire is now settled in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Stephen Beck

President Financial Services

tephen has worked in the Insurance & Financial Services industries for the past 25 years. Previously he served as a Vice President of a Park Avenue based insurance brokerage where he ran their Benefits Division via their West Palm Beach office. He also managed the Life and Health Division specializing in Maritime Crew.

As a broker, Stephen works aggressively to find the best products and services for his clients; and being “client-centric” is an important philosophy. With his vast knowledge of employee benefits and extensive experience with Medicare, Retirement Planning, and Life Insurance.

Stephen is from the St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and now lives in Dania Beach, FL.

James Andrews

CFO

James Andrews [Jimmy] has a long career spanning the Atlantic providing financial services in both the UK and the USA; and also with a wealth of understanding of financial systems worldwide.

Jimmy handles all of SGRM’s due diligence, accounting, corporate income tax, employees payroll, audits and reviews, for SGRM offices both in the United States, Europe and also other bases of operation around the world.

Jimmy also works closely with parent company The Someya Group Limited and their various managed and owned entities, in the preparation of investments, equities and the compilation of integral financial reports for clients and investors.

Hamish Chilvers

International Sales Manager

Hamish has brought his love of the ocean and experience in Yachting together with his professional ability in the insurance industry.

He is an experienced Sales Executive with a demonstrated history of working in various insurance fields.

Skilled in Negotiation, Sailing, Maritime Operations, Marine Survey, and International Shipping Hamish is a strong sales professional focused on all types of marine insurance.

Based in West Palm Beach Florida, he is a Professional Yachtsman, Racing tactician and Navigator for Super yacht racing world wide.

Kenta Inaba

VP Japan

Based in Tokyo, Kenta has wide experience both in the corporate world and the private and commercial maritime industry.

As a Senior Vice President at The Hartford, he was heavily involved with Property and Casualty products, and also Life Insurance, especially domestically in Japan.

Since then he has been with Morgan Stanley, dealing with new development projects around the world, as well as developing his own business within the commercial maritime industry.

Kenta is a keen, proficient and world class sailor, competing regularly in fleet and match racing events onboard some of the world’s most prestigious Maxi Sailboats.

Yukako Ogawa

Asia Liaison

Originally from near Tokyo in Japan, Yukako graduated from the University of California, to work as broadcast journalist, working for Kyodo News in their Los Angeles bureau.

Following that she worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines, before moving into the maritime world as a crew member on large mega yachts cruising worldwide.

Now working shore side, Yukako acts as a liaison officer for many of the businesses operated by The Someya Group Limited, especially in Japan, and serves as Country Manager in Japan for SGRM.

She regularly travels between Tokyo, Japan and the Florida, USA.
